Refill the Food Dispenser

  1. Take food dispenser off the hook and refill with food pellets located in the first metal trashcan.
  2. Sprinkle dried oregano into the dispenser after each scoop of food.
  3. Hang the food dispenser back up on the hook and make sure the dispenser doors are open to reveal the food.

Refill the Grit Bowl if Low or Empty

  1. Grits looks like little white stones. If grit level is low or empty, use your judgment whether to pour out the remains of the bowl because it's full of straw or to keep what's in it.
  2. If grits look contaminated with poop, please toss it out.
  3. Refill grit bowl from the grit bag in the metal can. Then hook the bowl back into the side of the coop mesh with the wire.

  3. Scrub and refill both water dispensers. Materials are stored in brown mesh tote bag, including key to turn on outdoor sink. *Add a capful of apple cider vinegar when refilling the water*

Return the Chickens

Cut Out Flower
Empty Chicken Coop Illustration

Return the chickens to the coop with the mealworms that are located in the metal bin outside of the coop.

  1. Stand just outside the coop with the door open
  2. Shake the bag of mealworms.
  3. Shout "MEALWORMS"

Pro-Tips: If you are with other family members, it helps to have the others stand behind the chickens and say "MEALWORMS" to sweep them toward the coop.

As a last resort, you may have to catch and carry them inside.
